To discover Melody Gardot

Melody Gardot was born in New Jersey and raised in Philadelphia, where she played piano and guitar. As a fan of Duke Ellington, Radiohead and The Mamas and the Papas, she draws on a wide range of inspirations. She was just 16 when she began performing in clubs, but her songwriting career took off in the wake of a car accident, when she was advised to try music therapy for her rehabilitation.

Her debut album, Worrisome Heart, released in the US in late 2006, displays an impressively mature sound and received accolades from critics and the public alike. The ensuring tour, in which she delivered suave ballads while seated and wearing sunglasses to protect her eyes, made her world-famous.
