In 2010, close to the famous studios where major names such as David Lean, Ridley Scott (both British), Martin Scorsese (American) and Alain Chabat (French) have worked, the annual"Meetings under the tent" were founded. This event has attracted cinema-school students from countries including Belgium, Burkina Faso, Canada, France, Lebanon, Mauritania, Spain, and the United States, as well as Morocco itself. Over three days, during which their films are screened and cinema professionals lead workshops, these young people learn more about themselves, discover other cultures and discuss developments in the film industry.
The "Meetings under the tent" offer an ideal setting for students to form friendships and make professional connections, as well as to share artistic experiences and emotions. They are also an opportunity to promote the expertise of students of the Institut Spécialisé dans les Métiers du Cinéma de Ouarzazate (The Ouarzazate Cinema Institute or ISMC), which organizes and coordinates the event with support from Vivendi.
Let's have a look at this privileged forum for dialogue with testimonials from two of the students as well as Rodolphe Buet, Executive Vice President of Studiocanal, who was invited by Vivendi to coordinate a workshop during the 2011 edition of the Meetings.
