The Ambassadeurs Internationaux on tour: an opportunity for the sound engineers training at the Moffou Studio

June 16, 2015

The Ambassadeurs Internationaux – the flagship music band of the Malian capital – just begins a new tour. This behind-the-scenes video show the rehearsals at the Moffou Studio where took place the tenth edition of the training program supported by Vivendi.

In July 2014, Vivendi continued its training program for sound engineers in Bamako with the complicity of Malian singer-songwriter Salif Keita and the Ambassadeurs Internationaux music band. This report was filmed during the tenth edition of the training program that took place during their rehearsals. Launched by Vivendi in 2006 the goal of this training program is promoting young talent together with Salif Keita whose ambition is to make his Moffou studio a pool of talent.

Selected by UNESCO for its contribution to strengthening local cultural capacities and infrastructures the program achieved great successes:  in 2012 the interns recorded the album Made in Bamako an in November 2014 one of them was the first recipient of the RFI Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon grant rewarding every year a young sound engineer from an African country.

The Ambassadeurs Internationaux are actually on tour (Primavera festival in Barcelona, Mawazine festival in Morocco among many others).
